Parker is exhausted after chasing Jarod for years and with no more “Daddy” to tie her loyalty to the Centre she realizes this cannot go on for much longer. New revelations come to light that show she has been locked up with Jarod in the past and it sheds a new light on their shared past and future.
Basically the ending to the series I’ve always wanted, still mad the Third Pretender movie was never made and we never got closure in the form of a book or comic. -

“And what about … us?” replies Jarod.
“You run, I chase,” she replies. “That choice was made for us a long time ago.”
With a hint of a smile on his face, Jarod says, “Maybe that is the Parker curse.”
“Yeah,” says Miss Parker, smiling a little herself. She wipes the tear from her cheek. “Helluva life we have here, Jarod.”
“Only this time, the first one to find the answers,” he swallows heavily. “Lives.”
“Jarod,” she says quickly. “If the prophecies, if they were real, maybe we could have found out what our future would hold.”
“If they’re real,” replies Jarod...then breaks the connection.
