Summary
Sheldon is born in an alternate world, where all humans have a unique power from birth - a power that can be as useless as growing nose hair on command or as destructive as summoning flames out of nowhere - and his gift is more unique than rare, as well as dangerous: to read the thought of any animated creature, and therefore also of the human beings who are around him, resulting in a continuous din in his mind, in the total absence of silence that could last for all his life.
