The Inbetween comes bearing gifts.
They never really know how anyone navigates it, just that they slowly slug onwards, the sound of creaking wheels and the cracking of dry tree roots underfoot filling out a silence that otherwise would feel oppressive and too present.
They are NOVI VAL, a band of sanctuary seekers, lost souls, outcasts and shadows, from everywhere and nowhere, from either side of the Inbetween, from the Inbetween itself.

Loman viimeiset päivät he saavat viettää kahdestaan. Välissä ei ole seiniä, paitsi ehkä muutama hapertuva lastulevy mielen uumenissa. Viimeisenä yönä homma lipsahtaa hivenen överiksi, mutta onneksi siinä vaiheessa se ei ole niin vaarallista. He ovat lähdössä kotiin. Tiet erkanevat jälleen tuhansien kilometrien päähän, kuten on molempien parhaaksi. Näin sen täytyy mennä.

The soft smile painting Jan’s face becomes even warmer with the sight that greets him once he looks up: Nace is lying on his back on the couch, Bojan tucked against his side with his head pillowed on his shoulder, and little Pino curled up into a ball on Nace’s chest. The steady rise and fall of both their breaths causes Bojan’s hand – which is resting lightly on the dog’s tiny back – to move in a gentle rhythm with them.
They’re all fast asleep, judging by the light snoring coming from all of them – yes, both his boyfriends and the puppy – and Jan feels his heart melt inside his chest.
All for being a cat person, Jan thinks as he feels Igor cuddle up a little closer to him.
